1 week postpartum update!16:49:00
I can't believe it, my little princess is a week old! (Well 9 days at the time of typing this!) and what a week it's been!
Kairi's Weight, Length and Head Circumference, her birth weight (Saturday) was 8lb 10oz and she was weighed Wednesday and is now 8lb 2oz, which is still a good weight. Her head circumference was 34cm and her length is 53cms.
Kairi's Milestones, I can't believe she already has milestones! She's such a clever girl. This week, Kairi has been tracking sound moving. If you shake a rattle on one side of her head and then the other, she will follow it round! She also slept in her Moses Basket for the first time! Although Mummy is not very please with that as I love her having cuddles with me!
Kairi's Outfit of the Week, has to be the ladybird with the tutu skirt. This was a gift from a friend, so i'm unsure where so came from.
Our Week / Where we've been, where do I start! So Kairi was born on Saturday and we spent the day, night and all of Sunday in the hospital. Sunday night we came home and had an amazing sleep :) Woke up all refreshed on Monday morning and Daddy had an interview, after that, we got ready and went out to Daddy's mums, we had a lovely dinner and saw lots of the family and then came home. At the beginning of the week, me and Kairi were having problems with latching on, so I decided to take her out to breast feeding cafe. We got some help and had a few good feeds on the left side. Wednesday, we went and visited Kairi's great nanny and Granddads with Auntie Vicki and cousin Lilli. Thursday Daddy had to prepare for another interview, the midwife came round to see us and shew us another breast feeding position, we were really grateful as it was laying down!! After they left, we met Auntie Vicki, Cousin Lilli and Nanny Tracy with Coco , we had a quick walk through town and popped in to see Daddy to say bye and good luck for his interview as he would be going away for the night. We got to stay at Nanny's though :) We also popped into MESH Youth Group, where we visited all the children and staff so they could finally meet me! Friday we went to the other breast feeding Cafe, we were still struggling to latch on properly, but we finally got the perfect help and support we needed (we've been successful ever since!!)
Weight loss/belly update, I've lost a total of 1 stone so far! I'm so proud of myself!! The problem is my engagement ring just wants to keep falling off! I really think part of this is down to the fact that I haven't stayed in laying in bed or on the sofa all day, I've been out EVERYDAY even if it's only for a short walk. I haven't been dieting, but I have been eating more healthy, not because I planned to, but for some reason I have been quite happy to chose fruit over cake and (homemade!) over coke! I have also been breast feeding, which has obviously helped and I have been wearing my Mum Tum which I feel is fantastic, i really feel that it has helped me to lose all the weight and it has defiantly made me feel confident when going out, I feel like I don't have 'flab' but a normal belly! As for stretch marks, they are not too bad, they're just a light pink kind of color, so will hopefully fade fast :)
Things that we are looking forward to for next week, have to be getting our little princess registered, going back to the breastfeeding cafe, planning the next meetup and Daddy hopefully finding out if he got the job.
What I'm Wearing, leggings, leggings, leggings! So, I did try to wear jeans, but the problem with that is my pre-pregnancy jeans don't quite fit yet and my maternity jeans keep falling down, but leggings, shorts and long tops are the way to go! (I strangely fit in my pre-pregnancy shorts!) I need to buy some new long tops though... role on pay day!
What I brought this week, Breast Shells, Boots Bras, Baby Shoes, New Bed Covers, Yummy Mummy Wet Purse, Pillows and a Nappy Bin. The bed sheets were 37 from Wilko and are lovely, I got the pillow cases for less than £3 from Argos (spare plain beige ones) and matching bottom sheets for about £5. 4 new silent night pillows for £15 from BHS and the nappy bin was a Tommie-Tippee £3 second hand off Facebook. The bra's were £25 each from Boots, but are fantastic and well worth the money! They are so comfy and easy access too and the Yummy Mummy Wet purse was reduced to £1.50 in ASDA, I've not found a use for it yet, but couldn't resit! The baby shoes were my best bargain though! They were of a Facebook selling page too £10 for 10 pairs! and they are beautiful!
Our favorites this week, have to be Calippo ice lollies (were going through so many boxes!) Yummy Mummy Changing Bag as it has so many pockets and compartments to organize everything me and Kairi need! Fisherprice Seahorse and Swing, both are perfect for when Kairi won't sleep. Lansinoh Nipple Cream, works fast and works wonders, perfect for when you are establishing feeding!
We hope you have a fantastic week and can't wait to blog again!
Love Mummy and Kairi x
