Time for a Spring Clean: But don’t forget these places!
So, Christmas is over and done with, and the New Year celebrations have come and gone in a flash! It’s all over so quickly isn’t it? The build up goes on for months and months and then it’s all over in the blink of an eye!
The good news is, is that it’s the start of a new year, which means a clean slate, a fresh start and there are lots of exciting things to look forward to! The bad news is, that your home has bared the brunt of all the festivities and might be looking a little worse for wear! Especially with all the new toys, new gadgets and mess that comes with endless visitors, buffets, baking and the kids being home from school!
Some people fancy a change in the new year, and are quick to measure up for a new carpet, or sofa, or find a reputable skirting board retailer and totally refresh their living spaces.
But often, the best thing to do is dust off the vacuum, pick up that feather duster, don those rubber gloves and get to work. It’s not only good for the house, but a deep clean is good for your body and mind too. What a better way to start the new year, right?
Everyone has a cleaning routine, but did you know that there are some personal items in the home that we always forget? Read on, and you might just shock yourself!
Your remotes
The TV remote is a go-to item in every household – when you can find it of course! So, when you’ve discovered it’s hiding place, get yourself some antibacterial cleaning products, wipes, spray etc, and give it a really good clean. Think about it, everyone touches the remote, your partner, the kids – even the dog! So, it doesn’t take much for it to become a breeding ground for bacteria.
Your phone
Its been said that the average smartphone screen is dirtier than a toilet seat! We take them everywhere with us – even to the bathroom! So, like your TV remote, bacteria can thrive on the screen which is then transferred onto anyone else who touches it or touches your hands! Be smart and give your smartphone a quick wipe with an anti-bac wipe!
Your shower curtain
Think about it, it gets wet every single day, it has soap and suds thrown at it on a regular basis too. So, it’s no wonder that our shower curtains get smelly and discolored. But you don’t need to rush out and replace it, simply check the washing instructions and – if it allows - put it on a 90-degree wash to kill all those nasty germs and lurking bacteria!
Your cards
Yes, seriously! How often do we put them in our mouths while we fumble with the receipt at the checkout? Or we have them stuck at the bottom of our bags and pockets, which probably have never been cleaned either! Give them a quick wipe too!
Then once you've finished cleaning: Put a little magic into your wardrobe too!
