We are on our second week of 'A perfect day and Disney' now and I have to say I'm loving it so far. Morgan's day (that you're about to read) has had me in tears more than once! I'd love to take a stroll around Epcot with her and give figment a big hug! So have a read and let me know if you'd like to join Morgan too?!

First things first, what time are you waking up, how and where are you?

My phone alarm wakes us up at 7am and we all scramble out of our beds in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. While the boys get ready I step out onto the balcony and look over the Savannah (we love the Savannah View rooms) and see a Giraffe munching on some branches of the trees. I smile, I am home.

Who is with you and are you a planner?

It’s me, the Hubby and my boys - LP and BP (9 and 14 years old). We have the whole holiday planned, down to what time we’ll be going on rides because we’ve booked all of our Fastpasses a few months in advance.

Now it’s breakfast time, what are you eating?

Depending on the day it could be a buffet breakfast in Boma (restaurant in Animal Kingdom Lodge), a quick snack from the quick service place - The Mara - or we could wait and head to one of the parks to get something. We like to do something different everyday. I do love Boma though, there’s so much choice: ham, turkey, waffles, cereal, and lots and lots of pastries!

Okay, so it’s time to head off to the parks, which one are you heading to and how are you getting there? Are you doing anything on the way?

We usually go to Epcot the most when we visit so I’d say that’s where we’re going. We get there by car, we always hire because we like to drive around a lot too. In a morning we head straight to the park to try to get on some of our favourite rides before they get too busy.

Walt Disney World Epcot

You’re in! Whats the first thing you do?

Either Test Track or Soarin’. Both are rides we all go on which is great and means we can all go there together.

Whats on your hit list for the morning?

As many rides as we can fit in until it gets too busy - usually 3-4. We’ll head to Club Cool to get a quick (free) drink and to get out of the heat for a little while, then we’ll start to walk towards World Showcase. I love to walk around the countries and look in all the shops. As World Showcase usually opens at 11am we’ll only see a couple of countries before lunch and that tends to be Mexico and Norway.

It’s lunch time where are you eating and what are you ordering?

As we’re in Epcot we’d probably have Tepan Edo booked - one of our favourites in Epcot. Sushi is on the cards - Volcano Rolls are fantastic and definitely one to try if you haven’t! After that it would be steak and noodles for me, with all the vegetables and soy sauce. Yum!

The world showcase in Epcot

Whats on the plan for the afternoon?

In an afternoon we would split our time, particularly after spending the morning walking around Epcot. We’d head for Typhoon Lagoon where the boys could go on their favourite slides and then we’d all go into the Surf Pool to take on the tidal waves! The boys love it and I have to admit it’s growing on me.

It doesn’t take long to wear us out at Typhoon Lagoon though, so after a quick go around Castaway Creek (the lazy river) we’d get changed and go to our next park. We vary our days so it could be any of the other parks, so for today it’ll be Magic Kingdom.

Entering Magic Kingdom and seeing Cinderella’s Castle never fails to bring a tear to my eye and as we walk towards our first stop, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, I look at that Castle and pretend I’m a Disney Princess. Once we’re finished there the boys usually want to go on Space Mountain, and as I’m afraid of coasters I walk around taking photos or scanning for our next thing to do.

A dole whip at Walt Disney World held by Morgan

What Disney snack are you getting to get rid of the 3pm twangs?

Magic Kingdom is the perfect place for the 3pm twangs! Dole Whip all the way baby! At 3pm it’s very hot, and that ice-cream on pineapple juice is just what you need to both cool down and have a snack. Perfect!

The parade has been, night is falling, what MUST you get a picture of in the dark?

Okay so this is not in Magic Kingdom, so we’d have to park hop again but I love to see Hollywood Hotel at night. With all it’s lighting and everything it always looks so good.

Whats on your evening plans?

Oh boy here we go…

Dinner - Hoop De Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness Camp Ground. Eat a family-style meal while being entertained with music and dancing, and lots and lots of laughing. Then on to Magic Kingdom again for fireworks.

No doubt the boys would be wiped out by now so we’d head back to the hotel and they’d go to bed. And the Hubby and I would either have a drink in the room while we watch Friends on Netflix, or go to Victoria Falls (the hotel bar) to grab a quick Smoked Turkey (bourbon cocktail) before bed.

What did you buy today?

All of Disney!

In all honesty though, probably a few pins to go with our collection back home. No doubt I bought a mug or some Mickey ears too! And for LP a new teddy bear - more than likely a Figment one.

Whats the last thing you do before you say goodnight?

Make sure the boys are tucked in and sleeping soundly and kiss the Hubby goodnight. Then I smile again, my first day back home was AWESOME!

I am loving reading these Disney posts. Shedding a little tear while dreaming on myself at Disney is a fave past time of mine. So here is this weeks A perfect Day at Disney. Featuring Kirsty and her perfect day at Disneyland Anaheim.

First things first, what time are you waking up, how and where are you?

We’re independent family travellers so waking up in our dream Southern California house-swap (with garden and hot tub) would be amazing! We’d wake up early because the kids are super excited and drive 20 minutes to Anaheim. (Oh, this part isn’t a dream and this really happened! We totally recommend house-swapping in California)

Who is with you and are you a planner?

It’s the kids (1 toddler, 1 babe in arms) and of course, my partner and me. It’s my partner who the real planner. He’ll have been googling 1 day Disneyland itineraries with weeks beforehand.

Now it’s breakfast time, what are you eating?

A quick bowl of cereal at our nearby house swap. Eating in the garden basking in the California sunshine. We want to get on the road quickly and get a good parking spot.

Tea Cups Disneyland California World for a Girl

Okay, so it’s time to head off to the parks, which one are you heading to and how are you getting there? Are you doing anything on the way?

It’s just a quick drive to Disneyland, California so we head straight there along the freeway.

You’re in! Whats the first thing you do?

Of course, we go straight to see Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Nothing symbolises Disney more than this! As an adult, it’s a little smaller than imagined but the toddler loves it.

Whats on your hit list for the morning?

Travelling with a toddler and a baby, it’s all about the traditional Disney rides for us. The Flying Dumbos, the Mad Tea Party Tea Cups, Peter Pan and of course, It’s a Small World After All (twice!)

Once we’ve done the firm favourites, we take the monorail to have a bird’s eye view of the park. Next, we brave the queue to board a Finding Nemo Submarine. The long wait is worth it as this ride wins the heart of our toddler!

Dumbo Disneyland California World for a Girl

It’s lunch time where are you eating and what are you ordering?

A plate of salty chips with tomato ketchup. Nothing encapsulates lunch at a theme park more. Unfortunately vinegar isn’t big in California!

Whats on the plan for the afternoon?

The crowds are building up so we find a quiet spot for the baby to nap in the buggy whilst the toddler goes wild in Mickey’s House.

Later, we take a leisurely family boat ride through the Pirates of the Caribbean. Our toddler seems oddly fascinated by the guns and cannons… oh dear…

Finally, we unleash the toddler again at Tarzan’s Treehouse play area whilst I give the baby a feed. Dad chases the toddler across dozens of rope bridges until he’s so tired he takes a quick nap in the baby’s buggy. This gives Dad a quick chance to go on a rollercoaster alone.

What Disney snack are you getting to get rid of the 3pm twangs?

Sweet popcorn- lots of it! Oh and of course, a healthy apple that I’ve stashed in the nappy bag.

The parade has been, night is falling, what MUST you get a picture of in the dark?

We take 100s of photos of the amazing floats. Even the baby is absolutely captivated by the lights and the music. Toddler loves popping bubbles in time to the music! Our arms ache from waving for so long.

Night Parade2 Disneyland California World for a Girl

Whats on your evening plans?

Sadly because we’re staying outside the park we leave as the fireworks explode in the sky over us. It’s been a long and sweaty day but leaving to the finale of parade is an awesome note to leave on.

What did you buy today?

Mmm… tricky question. Food? Snacks? We prefer to travel light so keep souvenirs to a minimum. That said, the kids’ playroom at home is FULL of Disney dress-up clothes and soft toys.

Whats the last thing you do before you say goodnight?

As we tuck the toddler up in bed, he tells us about his favourite rides ( the Finding Nemo submarines!) and asks to watch a Mickey Mouse cartoon the next day! He’s fallen in love with Disney! I suspect that this won’t be our last Disney visit.

Welcome to Kairi's (she's 5) perfect day at Disneyland Paris. As she sat and told me all about it (written by mummy) I started to realise she thought she was actually planning a holiday day for us and not just writing a post! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

First things first, what time are you waking up, how and where are you?

I guess I'll wake up at 7:30 in the truck hotel (Santa Fe) wait, actually it's the fireplace one (Sequoia Lodge). Mummy is going to be the one to wake me up.

Who is with you and are you a planner?

Mummy, Daddy, Naminé, Lilli, Baby Olli, Auntie Vic, Nanny and probably Granddad Trev. Mummy does all the planning.

Now it’s breakfast time, what are you eating?

I would pick something special like eating with Mickey and friends. I wonder who we are going to eat with.

Okay, so it’s time to head off to the parks, which one are you heading to?

The Disney Park! The one with the tower of terror in, because I love tower of terror and I want Nam to be able to go on it.

You’re in! Whats the first thing you do?

We are going straight to Tower of Terror! *Naminé in the background, 'I don't like to be scared on Tower of Terror when I'm little, only when I'm big!'*

Whats on your hit list for the morning?

Rides! After Tower of Terror we will head for Buzz Light Year.

It’s lunch time where are you eating and what are you ordering?

Wait, I get to pick. This is the best day ever (I'm beginning to think she doesn't think this is a made up day!) A buffet, like Restaurant Des Stars.

Whats on the plan for the afternoon?

As much as I want to watch the parade, I don't want to stand so I think I want to go on Ratatouille. I want to watch a show too, I want to see Stitch Live!

What Disney snack are you getting to get rid of the 3pm twangs?

Candy Floss!

The parade has been, night is falling, what MUST you get a picture of in the dark?

Pulling the Sword out of the Stone.

Whats on your evening plans?

Eat dinner at the Pirate restaurant because it's really nice there. I also want to watch the fireworks show because it has all the Disney characters on and has Tinkerbell, fireworks and the Disney castle changes colour. Do you remember mum?! Then shops on the way home.

What did you buy today?

Sweets and a teddy. I would like a Stitch teddy because Daddy likes Stitch and we could share it.

Whats the last thing you do before you say goodnight?

I want to have cuddles and kisses like normal.

I am Kairi, I have loads of huggles and I play a lot, I love my computer and I like building. I have wobbly teeth, but I don't like them falling out. I love Tower of Terror at Disney because it goes up and down again and it's really cool.

We don't have long until our next trip away now, but of course i'm still spending every day dreaming about Disneyland Paris! This week we have the wonderful Rachel, talking all about her perfect day at Disneyland Paris in the summer. Let us know your perfect day at Disney below too!

First things first, what time are you waking up, how and where are you?

We wake up bright and early and very excited at 7am at Sequoia Lodge Golden Forest Club room.

Who is with you and are you a planner?

My hubby, myself and my two daughter’s BB and LB. We have all put ideas in for the first day. We are hungry and ready to eat.

Now it’s breakfast time, what are you eating?

Character breakfast which was amazing! I don’t know who was more excited us or the kids when some of the characters came in! We indulge and try out everything on the buffet menu – even those delicious pan au chocolat! I wasn’t keen on the sausages as they were veal I believe.

Okay, so it’s time to head off to the parks, which one are you heading to and how are you getting there? Are you doing anything on the way?

We walked / skipped/ ran about 15-20 minutes from the lodge to Walt Disney Studio park.

You’re in! What’s the first thing you do?

Stare and take in the scenery, the magic and all the shops! Oh take start taking lots of photos!

What’s on your hit list for the morning?

The girls want to check out the rides while I want to take in the scenery. The girls win. Hubby and BB spot Tower of Terror – OMG I can not explain how scared that ride is! The girls and Hubby thought it was brill. Me – er nope! After this it’s riding Crusher’s Coaster – we loved this ride!

We then head over to the Disney Park for more rides. On the way we rent a stroller for LB, due to her joint hypermobility and Autism needs, she finds walking, noise and crowds overwhelming and she can not walk far without her legs hurting. We are also able to receive the ride access passes. If we didn’t have these my girls would never had queued for the rides. The queues and crowds are just too much for them both.

It’s lunch time where are you eating and what are you ordering?

Because we has stuffed ourselves silly at breakfast we go for magnum ice creams and go and queue up to meet Goofy.

Whats on the plan for the afternoon?

Afternoon plans are watching the Marvel Avengers show back at Walt Disney Studio park, (hubby and BB are big fans). After this we then go back to the other Disney Park and book a time to ‘meet a princess’, we have to come back 1 hour later for our time slot. While waiting we spot the small world ride has barely any queue – great – we thought. Both of my girls couldn’t look while on the ride, it’s full of dolls singing songs from around the world. The dolls face’s scared both BB and LB. We then walk around and studied the Disney Map and spot Pirates of the Caribbean ride which is at the other side of the park. While walking we spot the Mad Hatters Tea Party maze which we enter and explore, we didn’t get lost wahoo! We even found our way into the center where the Red Queens castle is.

Once we get back out of the maze our time is nearly approaching to meet a princess so off we go. LB got to meet Snow White! What a lovely kind princess to meet. She chatted to LB about where the 7 dwarfs are and what they were doing, LB was in pure awe of her.

What Disney snack are you getting to get rid of the 3pm twangs?

We are really lucky the 3pm twangs are sorted with the free savoury buffet back at the  golden forest lounge club restaurant back at Sequioa lodge. Because both of my girls need regular quiet breaks to calm down and refocus due to their Autism needs the lodge upgraded us to Club when we arrived which meant we were able to access the afternoon savoury buffet at the hotel which was in a quiet room with low lighting. It was really nice to get this for them.

We go back to our room so the girls can unwind and LB crashes out for an hour. Hubby and I drink tea and watch some tv while BB reads the maps over and over.

About 5pm we head out for dinner. We eat in the Hunters Grill which is the restaurant in our hotel. We devour a hot buffet with a big variety of meals – some are very child friendly like chips, chicken nuggets, noodles, plain chicken, spaghetti and meatballs. There was a nice selection of food for the adults too, fresh meats, spicy chicken, various types of fish with herbs on them. I don’t really like fish so I did not try this.

The dessert selection of sweet puddings, fresh fruit salads and a help yourself fruit bowl was again all you can eat. All very delicious!

We waddle out full and raring to go back to the parks, we again walk with LB in the stroller. It’s chillier so we all wear light jackets. We aim for the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride and a few more as they don’t close until 10pm (Walt Disney Studio park) and 11pm at the Disney Park because of the fireworks.

The parade has been, night is falling, what MUST you get a picture of in the dark?

The parade was such fun! We had to get the picture of the beautiful princess castle beautifully lit.

Whats on your evening plans?

Fireworks! We were told by lots of people that we have to see the fireworks. I am not really bothered about fireworks but these ones gave me goosebumps – I was totally blown away with the whole display. It was jam packed leaving, LB was sleepy and BB was buzzing from the fireworks and became really hyper. Hubby had to remain close to BB to make sure she didn’t try and run off as when she gets hyper is has been known to run off. She didn’t thankfully but did get anxious about the crowds so we had to guide her out of the park in a line so Hubby went first, BB in the middle with me bringing up the year with LB in the stroller.

What did you buy today?

I brought a grumpy tea mug – he is my fav dwarf. LB got a Disney jacket, BB got a pluto hat and hubby brought a goofy hat.

What’s the last thing you do before you say goodnight?

We all cuddle up together and speak about our day and what we did. The girls are yawning and so are we. They both sleepily get into their beds and we fall asleep very quickly dreaming of the magical day we had just created and the memories we have just made.

My name is Rachel, I live in Surrey with my Hubby and two girls, age 13 and 8. I write a Family, Lifestyle and Wellbeing blog. I want to encourage mums to look for the positives in life as well as looking after themselves in the busy world of motherhood. I Love cups of tea, chocolate and comfy clothes.

A perfect day in WDW

I'm Steph, mum to two girls now aged 13 and 11. Our youngest girl is autistic and I started my blog www.stephstwogirls.co.uk over nine years ago, the day we got her diagnosis. I write about all sorts - general family life with a sprinkling of info about her type of autism which is called Pathological Demand Avoidance. Our eldest girl is a huge Disney fan; we visited Florida four years ago and have been to Disneyland Paris three times. One time, our eldest girl actually got to dance in the parade with some cast members (photo above)! We love Disney.
